Albada Jelgersma Gallery is happy to invite you to the opening of Quintessence, our anniversary group exhibition.
The word quintessence is defined as ‘the essence of a thing in its purest most concentrated form’. A fitting name for our anniversary exhibition, that features carefully selected paintings and photographs by the gallery’s artists.
On show will be work by Mathieu Cherkit, Bettie van Haaster, Arjan van Helmond, Rens Horn, Rob Johannesma, Jule Korneffel, Jelle Korevaar, Erin O'Keefe, misha de ridder, Marjolein Rothman and Marenne Welten. The opening is Friday September 2, from 5-9 pm. The exhibition runs through October 1.
Five years ago, on September 2 2017, Albada Jelgersma Gallery opened its very first exhibition. Ever since that first day our goal has been to bring groundbreaking contemporary art to a wider audience and to contribute to the conversation that makes art vital.
Eventful, rewarding and memorable years followed. Five years of wonderful collaborations with a growing number of artists. Of great exhibitions, that caught the eye of both art lovers and art critics. Of stimulating lectures, where artists, scientists and journalists got together and discussed the meaning and value of art with the audience.
After 27 exhibitions, 12 gallery talks, 8 art fairs and one pandemic, it’s time to celebrate!
